The first thing I observed under the microscope, was a line of words cut out from an article. As I looked into the microscope, I noticed that the letter was inverted. I also noticed that whichever way you moved the letter while observing, it appeared to be moving the opposite way under the microscope. Here is a sketch of my "field of view" under 40X magnification.
Examining hair
Then next thing we examined was different colored hair. I took one of my hairs, and one of Ayushi's hairs, cut them to about two centimeters each, and crossed them over on the wet mount slide.

OBserving an onion
I separated a layer from an onion and placed it on a wet mount slide. While looking at the onion layer I could distinctly see different parts of the layer under the microscope. This included the cell wall, nucleus, and cytosol. The cell membrane was very difficult to see.

One thing I noticed while looking at the hair under high power, was that you can only focus on one hair at a time. This means that the microscope can look at different dimensions.
One thing I noticed about the onion cell is that there appears to be two dimensions, implying that the cell isn't flat.
